La Crosse, WI —Today, Rep. Ron Kind held a press conference on the Wisconsin Supreme Court’s decision to overturn Governor Tony Evers and Wisconsin Department of Health Services Secretary-designee Andrea Palm’s “Safer at Home” order. Rep. Kind is calling on Governor Evers and leaders in the state legislature to keep Wisconsinites safe and healthy by developing a comprehensive plan for:
- Expanded COVID-19 testing capacity
- Widespread contact tracing to slow the spread of the virus and make sure those who may have been exposed are provided with the necessary information
- Treatment for patients who have COVID-19
Additionally, Rep. Kind is calling on the Trump administration to coordinate with states and put in place a national strategy for testing and contact tracing, as well as lift restrictions on the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention to allow them to issue more detailed guidance for businesses on how they can best open while keeping their workers and customers safe.
