In reaction to the announcement that Trump administration is expanding his travel ban to cover individuals from additional countries Congresswoman Moore released the following statement:
“Our nation’s values are under attack. Between this Administration’s family separation policies, their public charge rule and now their extended travel ban, it’s clear that Trump and his Administration have moved beyond inflammatory rhetoric to actually building walls through reprehensible policies that targets individuals and countries based on race or religion. I am pleased that the House will soon be taking up the NO BAN Act to prevent such immoral, xenophobic, and ineffective policies.
Instead of taking a page out of Stephen Miller’s playbook, this Administration should make real efforts to enhance our national and global security by working with House Democrats to pursue immigration policies that keep our nation safe while living up to the motto inscribed on Ellis Island to “Give me your tired, your poor, Your huddled masses yearning to breathe free.”
