WASHINGTON, D.C.—Today, Congressman Bryan Steil spoke at the Major County Sheriffs of America’s Legislative Horizon in 2021 Regional Virtual Conference. Milwaukee County Sheriff Earnell Lucas hosted the event.

“It was great to speak with our nation’s sheriffs and host, Milwaukee County Sheriff Lucas. To strengthen our communities, we must stand with those who serve and protect us.  I’ve seen firsthand the work of our men and women who wear the badge. I am committed to implementing policies that empower, not hinder, law enforcement’s ability to do their jobs. Having a strong partnership between federal and local governments will allow us to make lasting, meaningful impacts on our nation. As Congress considers police reform, I will continue this proactive dialogue with Sheriff Lucas and sheriffs across Southeast Wisconsin and our nation to ensure we keep our communities safe,” said Steil.

“Today, in a meeting with the Major County Sheriffs of America, Rep. Bryan Steil spoke to issues impacting Wisconsinites and the law enforcement community. Rep. Steil stressed the importance of workers having the essential tools to meet tomorrow’s challenges today and working families having the education and skills necessary to live the American Dream. He also spoke to the need for Congress to find bipartisan solutions to reimagining and support for law enforcement, something so vitally needed in our country. I thank Rep. Steil for taking the time to address these critical issues with the Major County Sheriffs of America,” said Milwaukee County Sheriff Earnell Lucas.
