WASHINGTON – During an interview on ‘Fox and Friends’ Wednesday, U.S. Senator Ron Johnson (R-Wis.) spoke about the need to better target financial relief to those who truly need it and the need to have a fair and unbiased federal investigation into Hunter Biden’s business dealings.

On Covid relief
“So, first of all, there’s the demand to increase the $600 per-person payments up to $2,000 per-person, which would increase the average amount of money going to households, for Covid relief about $2,400 in the original CARES Act to a family of four getting $8,000. So, from my standpoint, I’ve seen a report that adds another $464 billion to the total cost of that package – money we don’t have, money that we’re borrowing from our kids’ future. So, I think we need to target that a little bit more.”
On Biden investigation
“In the end, we just might need a special counsel, as much as I dislike what happens with special counsels. In this case, I think, in order to restore the confidence in our justice system so that the American people do have confidence that it’ll be equal justice under the law rather than special privileges for those that are [well] connected. … Particularly, Democrats, seem to have a little bit easier time of getting that pass when they do something wrong.”
