Republican Derrick Van Orden is out with a new TV ad accusing U.S. Rep. Ron Kind, D-La Crosse, of breaking a pledge to serve no more than 12 years in Congress.

In contrast, Van Orden says, “Navy SEALs move out, we get the job done, and then we move on. We’re accountable.”

According to Advertising Analytics, Kind and the groups backing him have an advantage of nearly $1.3 million on broadcast, cable, radio and digital between the primary and Election Day. Over the final two weeks of the race, the advantage is more than 3-to-1.

Van Orden in the ad backs term limits while saying Kind pledged 23 years ago to serve no more than 12 years in Congress.

“We don’t need anymore politicians,” Van Orden says. “It’s time to send in a SEAL.”
