Christine Neumann-Ortiz, Executive Director of Voces de la Frontera, issued the following statement:
“Voces de la Frontera applauds Gov. Tony Evers for today’s emergency order postponing the election until June 9.
“Voces de la Frontera and our allies have been pushing for this and we applaud the governor’s action to listen to the will of people and health officials to protect the health and lives of voters and poll workers.
“The Republicans, however, are continuing their effort to overturn Evers’ action, legislatively or through the Wisconsin Supreme Court.
“We may not know until Tuesday morning if the April 7, 2020 election will be postponed or move forward.
“In the meantime, Voces is encouraging voters to stay tuned and continuing to help voters and those helping voters to prepare for the election, in the event it moves forward.

“Voces de la Frontera aplaude al gobernador Tony Evers por la orden de emergencia de hoy posponiendo las elecciones hasta el 9 de junio.
“Voces de la Frontera y nuestros aliados han estado presionando por esto y aplaudimos la acción del gobernador para responder a la voluntad del pueblo y los funcionarios de salud para proteger la salud y la vida de los votantes y los trabajadores electorales.
“Los republicanos, sin embargo, continúan su esfuerzo para anular la acción del gobernador Evers, legislativamente o a través de la Corte Suprema de Wisconsin.
“No sabremos hasta el martes por la mañana si las elecciones del 7 de abril se pospondrán o avanzarán.
