Assembly Speaker Robin Vos, facing a deluge of outside spending, has posted a new campaign ad that accuses Dem opponent Joel Jacobsen of launching a “personal smear campaign” against Vos.
Vos appears once in the new spot, which features his wife Michelle Litjens Vos speaking directly to the camera. She recalls campaigning for others in grade school and college as well as her own election to the Legislature saying she knows campaigns “should be about ideas.”
“Joel and his cronies launched a personal smear campaign against my husband. Because they know they can’t beat him with their ideas. Tell Joel personal attacks are unacceptable and vote for Robin Vos Nov. 3,” says Litjens Vos, a fundraiser and political consultant who has raised money for the Jobs First Coalition, which typically supports GOP legislative candidates.
The video was posted to Vos’ campaign Facebook page and carries a disclaimer that lists his personal campaign. He earlier did an ad targeting Jacobsen, who Vos beat by 22 points two years ago, that was listed as an in-kind contribution from the Republican Assembly Campaign Committee.
