The owner of a small Wisconsin foundry told the Republican National Convention this evening President Trump put the government “on our side” by cutting taxes and regulations while providing a boost during the COVID-19 pandemic.

Debbie Flood, president of architectural hardware manufacturer Melron Corp. in Schofield, said Joe Biden doesn’t know anything about business or creating jobs, knocking his stance on China and regulations.

Flood said she was able to raise her employees’ wages thanks to the president’s tax cuts. Then when the pandemic hit, the Paycheck Protection Program allowed the company to keep people working during an uncertain future.

She knocked Biden for pledging to raise taxes and bring back excessive regulation.

“He’s spent 47 years in government, and it’s doubtful that he’ll finally figure it out in year 48,” she said.
