(WISCONSIN) — Today, the Democratic Party of Wisconsin is proud to release a special recording of the live table reading of The Princess Bride. The digital event was a massive success and the DPW’s biggest grassroots fundraiser ever, raising over $4.25 million for the party that will be used to defeat Trump in November. The recording will be available for purchase for Americans across the country for a single contribution to the Democratic Party of Wisconsin (no minimum contribution required) and will be viewable through November 3.
Following news of the release of the recording, starring actor Cary Elwes released the following statement:
“Each day brings new revelations of Donald Trump’s complete abdication of his duties as President, and it is costing American lives, our economy and even our very democracy. It is now more clear than ever that we have to prevent President Trump’s re-election if we want to have any hope of keeping Americans safe and put this country back on track. And that effort begins and ends with Wisconsin. I am naturally delighted that the live read of The Princess Bride which reunited my colleagues from that film helped raise record funds to help win that state.
