MADISON – Wisconsin Manufacturers & Commerce (WMC) Executive Vice President of Government Relations Scott Manley released the below statement following the publication of the Wisconsin Annual Fiscal Report that showed the state ended the fiscal year with a $1.2 billion balance in addition to a $106 million transfer to the state’s rainy day fund – growing it to a record $762 million.
“Wisconsin’s pro-growth legislators deserve immense credit for a decade of prudent and responsible budget decisions that have put our state on solid financial footing. While many in government have looked to overtax and overspend, Republicans in the state Assembly and Senate have put taxpayers first. Their policies have led to a record-setting balance in the rainy day fund and protected Wisconsinites from higher taxes when they can least afford it.”
