U.S. Sen. Baldwin, colleagues: Urge Polish president to clearly oppose bill that would prevent Holocaust restitution claims
Washington, D.C. — U.S. Senators Tammy Baldwin (D-WI), Marco Rubio (R-FL), James Lankford (R-OK), and Jacky Rosen (D-NV) led a bipartisan letter to Polish President Andrzej Duda raising their concerns with legislation that is being considered by Poland’s Senate. The Polish bill would make it impossible for survivors of the Holocaust and their families to pursue claims for restitution or compensation for property stolen by Nazi Germany or the Communist-era government.
