Statement from Wisconsin AFL-CIO President Stephanie Bloomingdale on President Biden’s Infrastructure Investment and Jobs Act:

President Biden’s historic bipartisan Infrastructure Investment and Jobs Act paves the way for the creation of millions of good union jobs upgrading America’s roads, bridges, clean water systems, broadband networks and more. This bill signals transformative, generational investment in our nation’s infrastructure and marks the biggest down payment on America’s physical infrastructure since President Dwight Eisenhower established the Interstate Highway System in the 1950s.

The Wisconsin AFL-CIO is grateful for the leadership and support of Wisconsin’s Democratic Congressional delegation of Senator Tammy Baldwin, Representative Gwen Moore, Representative Mark Pocan, and Representative Ron Kind, for voting YES on the Infrastructure Investment and Jobs Act and delivering good union jobs and needed investment for working families.

As workers celebrate this historic progress, we push forward on the completion of President Biden’s full Build Back Better Agenda so we can continue to make advancements toward an inclusive, fair, and thriving economy with strong unions and a strong middle class for generations to come.
