U.S. Sen. Tammy Baldwin called on Dems to live up to the Wisconsin motto and to keep moving the state and the nation “forward” on progressive policies.
The Madison Dem thanked volunteers and party workers for all of their efforts and donations in the past year that resulted in Biden winning the state and preserving Evers’ veto power. She touted “historic investments” through the Build Back Better infrastructure program in the works and the latest round of COVID stimulus.
But she warned such efforts could backslide if Republicans regain control of Congress or the governorship in the midterms.
“We know exactly what they’ll do if they’re successful in 2022,” Baldwin said. “They will once again be propping up their wealthy corporate donors and special interests and make attacks on our democracy while caving to the conspiracy theorists.”
