A Better Wisconsin Together digital ad accuses state superintendent candidate and former Brown Deer Superintendent Deb Kerr of trying to cover up a “financial scandal in her school district.”
The narrator in the spot says a district employee overdrew an account by half a million dollars, costing taxpayers $130,000. Instead of firing him, Kerr gave the employee “a pass and a golden parachute,” calling him a “good steward of public funds,” the narrator says.
The spot concludes, “Call Deb Kerr and tell her Wisconsin can’t afford more mismanagement.”
The spot is an issue ad that isn’t reported to the Ethics Commission. A Better Wisconsin Together’s Political Fund is a separate arm that engages in express advocacy that’s reported to the state.
