(Brown County, Wis.) – Brown County Executive Troy Streckenbach is excited about Georgia-Pacific’s announcement of its Broadway Mill expansion, leading to new investment and family-supporting jobs.

“I want to congratulate Georgia-Pacific for making this $500 million investment in Brown County, proving that our community is fostering a valuable eco-system for businesses large and small to entrust,” says Streckenbach. “I also want to recognize what an accomplishment this is for all the hard-working men and women at the Broadway Mill. Their work ethic, proficiency, stellar safety record, and environmental stewardship demonstrates why Georgia-Pacific selected our community for this expansion.”

According to a press release from Georgia-Pacific, they are investing more than $500 million to construct a new paper machine that utilizes through-air-dried (TAD) technology, while adding new infrastructure and nearly 150 new jobs. This project will also create as many as 500 construction and contract-related jobs throughout the timeline, which is expected to be fully complete during the first half of 2024.
