Even though there is still ice on the lakes, warmer temperatures and brighter evenings seem to indicate spring is almost here. While I hope you were able to get out on one of our five large frozen gems this winter, I’m also hopeful you’re excited to get back out on the water as the weather continues to turn milder.

With the warming weather, I’m excited to say registration for Loop the Lake is officially open. Registration information is below, and as always, kids 10 and under ride free!

Also this month, Clean Lakes Alliance will kick off a GoFundMe campaign in support of our youth education initiatives on World Water Day (Monday, March 22nd). Thanks to an anonymous donation, every dollar we raise will be matched, up to $10,000. Be sure to watch your email for information on how you can help.

Finally, I want to make sure you put Wednesday, March 10th on your calendar. That morning, Dane County Executive Joe Parisi and members of his staff will speak at our Clean Lakes 101 Science Café to give an update on “Suck the Muck” and other lake-related County projects. The virtual talk is free to Friends of Clean Lakes, so if you aren’t a Friend yet, sign up today!
