(MADISON, Wis.) – Construction Business Group (CBG), a leading voice for the Wisconsin construction industry, is excited to announce Joseph L. Davis, Sr. as the Director of Disadvantaged Business Enterprise (DBE) Development. Most recently serving as Regional Program Manager for the State of Wisconsin’s Department of Transportation (2016-2021) and as Alderman for Milwaukee’s 2nd District (2003-2016), Davis brings a wealth of knowledge and experience from his work in public service and a proud member of the Wisconsin building trades for over 30 years.

“We are excited to welcome Joe to our team at CBG. His history with the construction industry and work as a public servant will help further the goals of our new program focused on assisting and developing Disadvantaged Business Enterprises,” said Robb Kahl, Executive Director of CBG. “Joe will be a great role model for our team members and we know he will excel at helping Wisconsin’s DBE businesses thrive.”

The Disadvantaged Business Enterprise Development Director advocates and supports growth and development opportunities for Disadvantaged Business Enterprises in the transportation industry. Davis will be responsible for promoting the interests of minorities, women, veterans and other historically disadvantaged-owned businesses.

“I am thrilled to join CBG to start developing and implementing this important new program,” said Davis. “I am looking forward to assisting DBE businesses that already work on Wisconsin Department of Transportation projects, as well as helping new DBE businesses enter this important sector of the construction economy.”
