Overnight closures and traffic changes are planned for the I-39/90 and WIS 26/Milton Avenue and US 14/Humes Road interchanges (Exit 171 A-B) in Janesville. Prior to those changes, the I-39/90 southbound exit ramp to WIS 26 will be closed from 9 p.m. to 5 a.m. Thursday night (July 29). Drivers must use Exit 171 B (US 14/Humes Road). In addition, the southbound Interstate exit ramp to US 14/Humes Road will be closed from 9 p.m. to 5 a.m. Friday night (July 30). Motorists should use Exit 171 A to access Janesville’s north side.

Beginning Saturday (July 31), I-39/90 southbound traffic exiting to US 14/Humes Road must exit just south of the Janesville Rest Area, similar to traffic exiting to WIS 26. Motorists are advised to pay attention to the advanced signage. Exiting ramp traffic will travel on the new I-39/90 southbound lanes between Townline Road and WIS 26 and use the new Collector-Distributor (C/D) lane system. The I-39/90 northbound C/D lane system opened in July 2020. Information on the C/D lane system, including a brief video, can be found at projects.511wi.gov/i-39-90/resources/cdlanes/.

The work operations, ramp closures and traffic changes are weather dependent and subject to change.
