As part of the ongoing I-39/90 and I-43/WIS 81 interchange reconstruction project in Beloit, there will be ramp access changes and restrictions starting Friday night (July 30). I-43 southbound will be closed between Hart Road and I-39/90 from 8 p.m. to 10 p.m. Friday. Drivers will be detoured via Hart Road to Shopiere Road to access I-39/90 northbound or southbound.

Starting Friday night, the turning movement from I-39/90 northbound to WIS 81/Downtown Beloit (Exit 185) will be restricted until mid-August. Motorists can still use Exit 185 and follow I-43 northbound to Hart Road to turn around and use I-43 southbound into Beloit.

In addition, southbound I-43 traffic will shift onto the new structure over I-39/90. The new I-43 southbound ramp to I-39/90 northbound will also open. Northbound WIS 81 traffic from Beloit wishing to access I-39/90 northbound must use the Hart Road detour until mid-next week. At that time, access will be restored for WIS 81 traffic to merge onto I-39/90 northbound.

Drivers are urged to plan ahead, consider alternate routes, and allow extra time to reach their destination. These traffic changes and restrictions are weather dependent and subject to change.
