Construction will resume Monday (March 22) on US 14 between Oregon and Madison in Dane County. US 14 will remain open to at least one lane of traffic in each direction using crossovers. Motorists are urged to anticipate construction activities in the area and reduced speeds in the work zone.

The project will replace the US 14 westbound (northbound) bridge over Byrne Road and bridge deck replacements at the McCoy Road bridges. In addition, cable guardrail will be installed along a segment of US 14 between Netherwood Road and Byrne Road. Some notable traffic impacts include:

  • Byrne Road will be closed under US 14 starting Wednesday (March 17) through mid-June.
  • County MM ramp to US 14 westbound (northbound) will be closed starting Monday (March 22) until mid-June.

Drivers must use alternate routes during these closures.

The $6.7 million project is scheduled for completion in November 2021. Information on the US 14 bridges project can be found at https://projects.511wi.gov/us14bridges-danecounty/.
