Lancaster, WI (October 21, 2021) – Dr. James Dobson has announced his endorsement of Lancaster Mayor David Varnam for Wisconsin’s lieutenant governor.

“As a private individual, I am honored to endorse David Varnam for lieutenant governor and pray that his election will be the start of a new generation of leaders who will return this nation to the constitutional principles upon which it was founded,” Dr. Dobson stated.

Dr. Dobson is the founder of the global Christian ministry, Focus on the Family, an evangelical author, and Founder/President of Family Talk. Varnam represented Focus on the Family on federal issues as an issues response analyst working closely with Dr. Dobson.

“I am honored to have Dr. Dobson’s endorsement,” Varnam responded. “He has been a pro-life and pro-family voice in our nation for many years. With the support of Dr. Dobson and others across Wisconsin, we will elect new leadership in November 2022.”

Varnam announced in August that he is seeking the Republican nomination for lieutenant governor in 2022. He has been traveling throughout Wisconsin sharing his message of reducing taxes on residents and businesses, listening to the needs of communities, and standing up for the unborn.

“David is a strong conservative who will support legislation which bolsters the institution of family. He is unwaveringly pro-life and will stand firm in his support of protections for the unborn,” explained Dr. Dobson. “I have known David for nearly two decades and he is a man of principles, character, ethics and integrity.”

In Varnam’s three terms as mayor, he has made significant progress in Lancaster by attracting new businesses and keeping Lancaster the city with the lowest property taxes in Grant County.

“For more than two months I have been traveling the state talking about more protections for the unborn, lowering taxes and allowing parents to make decisions regarding their children’s education. It is encouraging to have people daily joining our cause,” Varnam added. “People have made it clear that Wisconsin needs new leadership to stand up for conservative values. I will be that leader and will take action for residents throughout Wisconsin.”
