Dear Colleagues,

Since I was first elected to the State Assembly in 2018, I have been incredibly proud of our caucus, all that we have accomplished, and how we have responded to the unique challenges that have come our way in Wisconsin. It has been an honor to serve our state alongside each and every one of you. Over the past few days, I have spoken to many of you about my desire to run for a leadership position. Today, I am humbly asking for your support of my candidacy for Assistant Minority Leader.

I want to extend my utmost appreciation to Representative Hesselbein for her years of outstanding service in this role, her highly effective leadership, and her dedication to our caucus and our state. During my time in the Assembly, I have sought opportunities to develop the leadership skills that are crucial for this role. I am prepared to follow in Representative Hesselbein’s footsteps by maintaining communication with Republican leadership about Rules Committee and floor activity, managing office logistics for our caucus, and providing mentorship and assistance when our members need it. I have the interpersonal skills necessary for this job, the energy level it requires, and as you all know, a sense of humor to help keep things in perspective. As one of the few legislative Democrats from west central Wisconsin, I would also help ensure that our leadership team includes representation from every corner of our state. What’s more, I have exactly the right staff to help me in this job – experienced, great with people, and politically astute.

The next year’s challenges will continue to motivate me to do whatever is necessary to keep our caucus stable and growing. I humbly ask you for your support for Assistant Minority Leader during our caucus on Monday.
