[STURTEVANT, WI…] Former President of Wisconsin Police Chief’s Association and Sturtevant Police Chief Sean Marschke today endorsed Fond du Lac County District Attorney Eric Toney in his bid to be elected the next Attorney General.

Marschke, former president of the Wisconsin Police Chiefs Association, said:

“Eric Toney is one of the toughest prosecutors in our state. And, he has the respect of his fellow prosecutors and cops on the street. Eric Toney is clearly the best choice for Attorney General. Violent crime has surged in our communities and we need to get back to basics and get tough on crime. We need a top cop who has experience in the courtroom taking on violent criminals. Now is not the time for rookies.”

Toney said he’s honored to be supported by Marschke’s support.

“Chief Marschke has persevered in the shadow of the flames of Milwaukee’s burning streets and he know we need to be tough on crime.,” Toney said. “He has seen first-hand the devastation of violent crimes in the past two years. I’m honored to have his support.”

Marschke said that Toney will follow in the model of Brad Schimel and put fighting crime at the top of his list to keep our streets safe.

Toney is endorsed by the Wisconsin Fraternal Order of Police which represents more than 2,300 members in 20 lodges throughout the state, as well as more than 50 sheriffs, district attorneys and police chiefs. Toney is the only candidate for attorney general that has prosecuted a violent crime in Wisconsin.

Toney said: “When I announced my candidacy for attorney general, I pledged to restore law and order, prosecute crime and defend Wisconsin’s election laws. Now, more than ever, it’s time to send a prosecutor — not a politician — to be our next ‘Top Cop.’

Milwaukee has become the Wild West of the Midwest. In 2020, the city set an all-time murder record with nearly twice as many murders as in 2019. In 2021, Milwaukee is on pace to set another record for murders in a single year.

Milwaukee Chief of Police Chief Alfonso Morales said it best, “Wisconsin needs an Attorney General who is tough on crime, and Eric Toney is tough on crime. We need a top cop who is going to focus on getting violent criminals off the streets.”
