MADISON, Wis.— Family Friendly Wisconsin released the following statement today, applauding Speaker Pelosi’s announcement that four weeks of paid family and medical leave will be included in President Biden’s Build Back Better Act and urging swift passage of the bill.

Brita Olsen, state director of Family Friendly Wisconsin:

“Family Friendly Wisconsin is thankful to Speaker Pelosi and other House Democrats for their leadership to ensure a paid family and medical leave policy will be included in the latest version of the Build Back Better Act.

“Families in Wisconsin desperately need the policies in Build Back Better and will benefit greatly from passage of the bill. For too long, we have failed to invest in family friendly policies, and proposals such as paid family and medical leave will ensure women and families have the resources they need to recover from the pandemic.

“Family Friendly Wisconsin is proud to support the Build Back Better Act and its historic investment in working families in Wisconsin. We call on members of Congress to swiftly pass the Build Back Better Act, including paid family and medical leave.”
