Green Bay, WI — This morning, the campaign for Congressman Mike Gallagher (WI-08) reported raising $830,250.11 during the first quarter of the 2022 cycle. Gallagher’s campaign will also report having just under $2 million cash on hand.

This is the best fundraising quarter for Congressman Gallagher since his initial run for the House of Representatives in 2016.  The $830,250 raised greatly exceeds his fundraising totals for any quarter in the 2020 and 2018 cycles.  His cash on hand of $1,929,943.39 provides him with a solid base to begin the 2022 campaign cycle in earnest.

In announcing the Q1 fundraising totals, Congressman Gallagher issued the following statement:

“I am humbled by the support that my campaign has received from Wisconsinites and from those around the country.  Our nation is facing big challenges both at home and abroad and I am determined to meet these challenges head-on.  We need to address the crisis on the Southern border, jump-start economic growth following the devastation of COVID-19, and fix Washington so it finally starts working for the American people.

“With Democrats controlling the House, Senate, and White House, I will continue to stand up to the Administration’s harmful policies and offer alternatives on the issues that matter most to the people of Northeast Wisconsin.  The generous support provided to my campaign helps me accomplish these policy goals and advance conservative principles.”

In 2020, Gallagher defeated Democratic Assemblywoman Amanda Stuck by 28%.  He received nearly 270,000 votes — the most in the history of the 8th Congressional District — and secured a third term with a victory of 64%-36%.  Gallagher’s margin of victory and vote total were the most among Wisconsin Congressional Republicans in 2020.

The resounding victory was his third consecutive win of over 20% after defeating Tom Nelson by 26% in 2016 and Beau Liegeois by 27% in 2018.
