Jon Erpenbach has been a strong voice for our Democratic values in the State Senate for 24 years, and I again congratulate him on his announcement. I am proud to call him a friend and wish him well in his next chapter.
Many people are urging me to consider a run for the seat he is vacating, and I am deeply honored by their trust and confidence. It is highly likely I will run, but it would be premature to officially declare before the new legislative district maps are established. I will make a formal announcement at a later date. My goal is to continue representing my neighbors and community and I will only seek the state senate seat being vacated by Senator Erpenbach. If the new maps place me outside Jon’s senate district, I will continue to serve, gladly and energetically, in the State Assembly.
