JFC Republicans propose $3.4B tax cut

The $3.4 billion tax package the Joint Finance Committee plans to take up later today would put more into K-12 education and tech colleges to drive down property tax levies while lowering one of the state’s four tax brackets.
The package also includes measures to repeal the personal property tax, GOP legislative leaders said at an afternoon news conference. Multiple sources also told WisPolitics.com the package will include moves to exempt the pay of active-duty military from state taxes and to adjust withholding tables to account for lower rates.
