Joint Finance approves $10 million for vets homes to cover future natural disasters, pandemics

The Joint Finance Committee voted unanimously to create a new $10 million fund for the state’s veterans homes to help them cover the costs of a future natural disaster or public emergency.
In doing so, Republicans on the committee knocked Gov. Tony Evers, saying he had failed to do enough for the state’s veterans homes during the COVID-19 pandemic over the past year.
