Lt. Gov. Mandela Barnes Statement on Ron Johnson’s Vote Against Bipartisan Infrastructure Legislation

MADISON— Lieutenant Governor Mandela Barnes released the following statement blasting Ron Johnson’s vote against the bipartisan infrastructure bill and highlighting the need to invest in Wisconsin’s working families:

“Today, Ron Johnson voted ‘no’ to bipartisan legislation that would build critical infrastructure, ‘no’ to good-paying jobs for working class Wisconsinites, and ‘no’ to investments in the 21st century economy. This ‘no’ sends a clear signal that Ron Johnson has no interest in delivering for the people of Wisconsin.

“For years, at every turn, he has stood against working across the aisle to deliver for our communities. That has got to end. We need leadership in Washington, D.C. that will put aside partisan fights to do what’s right to get big and bold things done. In the Senate, I will never stop working relentlessly to address the concerns I hear from everyday people as we build an economy that works for every community throughout Wisconsin.”
