MILWAUKEE — Jay Heck, executive director of Common Cause Wisconsin, and Joe Handrick, executive director of Common Sense Wisconsin, will be the featured guests for a conversation on redistricting during an upcoming virtual “On the Issues with Mike Gousha,” Tuesday, Oct. 26.

In this “On the Issues,” Marquette Law School’s Lubar Center continues its focus on redistricting in Wisconsin with the leaders of two advocacy groups that have been closely following this new round of legislative map drawing. During this conversation, the guests will talk about what the state’s new maps could look like, and whether that could affect the balance of power in Madison and the outcomes of Wisconsin’s congressional races. They will also discuss voting rights and election integrity.
Heck has led Common Cause Wisconsin for more than two decades. He was a legislative staffer for Democratic lawmakers in Madison and Washington, D.C., and was part of independent candidate John Anderson’s presidential campaign in 1980. Handrick is the new executive director of Common Sense Wisconsin and helped draw the state’s maps a decade ago. He is a former Republican state lawmaker from northern Wisconsin, the former town chairman of Minocqua, and a former administrator for then-Gov. Scott Walker.
