As chair of the Common Council’s Public Safety and Health Committee, a mother whose children cannot yet get vaccinated, and a supporter of science-backed tactics to slow the spread of COVID-19, I applaud Potawatomi Hotel & Casino for their announcement today that they will again require masks for guests effective tomorrow.
As a major employer in our city, and a popular tourist destination, it is admirable that they have placed the health and safety of both staff and customers above other factors through this policy, and other practices.
We all have a role to play in getting our community back to pre-pandemic levels, so I will continue to encourage those citywide to wear a mask when in public places, and if you have not done so, take the important step of getting vaccinated to protect yourself, your loved ones and our community.
