MILWAUKEE – On Monday the Intergovernmental Cooperation Council (ICC), which consists of the Mayor, Village President or Administrator from each of the 19 municipalities inside Milwaukee County, elected Oak Creek Mayor Dan Bukiewicz as its Chairman.

“Congratulations to Mayor Bukiewicz on his election as Intergovernmental Cooperation Council Chairman,” said Supervisor Patti Logsdon. “The ICC is an important body which helps move our region towards a prosperous shared future. Dan’s leadership on the ICC will be an asset to Milwaukee County and all its municipalities.”

The ICC is tasked with sharing best practices for delivering public services, discussing ways to save tax money and enhance services through cooperative efforts, and advocating for changes to state and federal law that are of common interest to ICC members.

Mayor Bukiewicz replaced City of Glendale Mayor Bryan Kennedy, who served as ICC Chairman for three years.

Mayor Bukiewicz was appointed Mayor of Oak Creek in 2017 and reelected in 2018. Prior to becoming Mayor, he served on the Oak Creek Common Council as the Alderman for District 2 for 10 years.

He has also served as President of the Milwaukee Building and Construction Trades Council since January 2014.
