MILWAUKEE – County Supervisor Sequanna Taylor and community partners will be departing for New Orleans this week to personally distribute donated supplies to communities affected by Hurricane Ida.

Media are invited to 6633 W. Mill Rd. Milwaukee, Wis. 53218 on Thursday at 2 p.m. as Supervisor Taylor and others depart Milwaukee for the drive to New Orleans. Supervisor Taylor will be available for media interviews before departing.

Supervisor Taylor partnered with local activists and organizations including Homer Blow, Community Task Force MKEProgram the ParksEphesians Missionary Baptist ChurchTaylor LegaciesSurvivor’s Journey To PeaceJacarrie Kicks4KidsSchober Outdoor Advertising, and DreamTeam United MKE on the aid initiative.

The coalition collected items such as non-perishable food, water, toiletries, diapers, masks, gloves, batteries, first aid kits, flash lights, baby supplies, paper towels, work gloves, socks, clothing, garbage bags, cleaning supplies, and toilet paper.

Attendees are asked to wear a mask and practice appropriate physical distancing. City of Milwaukee health and safety guidelines will be enforced at this outdoor event
