MILWAUKEE – Join the Milwaukee Press Club and WisPolitics.com for a virtual Newsmaker Lunch Hour featuring State Senators Lena Taylor and Van Wanggaard, who will discuss a bipartisan proposal for a legislative package of policing reforms for Wisconsin.

Wanggaard, R-Racine and Taylor, D-Milwaukee, will be the featured guests at a webinar set for noon to 1 p.m. on Monday, May 10.

They will field questions from a panel of journalists and from the audience at the program, to be moderated by Jeff Mayers, WisPolitics.com president.

The package includes bills focused on maintaining effective law enforcement service while improving accountability and transparency of police and increasing community involvement. One proposal calls for establishing an independent advisory board to analyze police use-of-force incidents and provide recommendations on how to prevent them. State Senator Alberta Darling, R-River Hills, also was involved in the proposal.

You must register in advance to view this event. Those who register will receive a link on the morning of the event to view it live.
