U.S. Rep. Gwen Moore, D-Milwaukee, told Dem activists the party has been bounced around by Republicans thanks to gerrymandered maps.

But she pledged the party would bounce back so long as activists dedicated themselves to being “bouncers.”

Moore knocked Republicans for fighting commonsense efforts to combat the COVID-19 pandemic, and she praised Gov. Tony Evers and President Biden for their efforts to get the state and country back on their feet.

“We have been bounced around too long, too hard by people who just don’t care. We’ve been bounced around, y’all,” Moore said.

Moore noted the party in power in the White House typically struggles in midterm elections. But she predicted Dems would buck that trend.

She urged activists to make a financial commitment to the party. She said those who can’t afford it need to dedicate themselves to organizing and doing doors. She said those who don’t think they’re strong enough to go door-to-door need to get on the phone to encourage others to vote Dem next year.

“If we’re going to bounce back, we’re going to need our bouncers,” she implored activists.
