Vulnerable Incumbent Johnson Most Unpopular Wisconsin Pol with Disapproval Rating at 50%; Nelson Releases New Video Showing his Little Chute Working Class Resume

Appleton, WI – The Nelson for Wisconsin campaign today released a poll conducted by Change Research of 1,723 voters showing in a head-to-head match-up against Senator Ron Johnson, Outagamie County Executive Tom Nelson leads 48% – 44%. The polling memo is attached below.

“Wisconsin voters have clearly soured on Ron Johnson’s non-stop controversies, from helping incite the insurrection of January 6th to promoting false COVID-19 quack science to trying to deny desperately needed survival checks. His racist remarks made national news and are an embarrassment to Wisconsin. Voters are ready for change and a senator who will finally pay attention to the needs of everyday Wisconsinites,” said Nelson campaign manager Irene Lin.

“With his long record of getting things done as Outagamie County Executive and Majority Leader in the State Assembly, along with winning six times as a progressive in a red county, Tom Nelson offers the best hope for Democrats in 2022,” she added.

Campaign Releases New “Tom’s Working Class Resume” Video

The campaign also today released a video showing lessons Tom learned working on his family farm, at the local supper club, and at a paper mill in his hometown of Little Chute. These low wage jobs in a tight-knit working-class community helped instill in him a tireless work ethic and progressive values and show why he is committed to creating a fair and just economy that helps Main Street, not Wall Street.
