MADISON – Today, Governor Tony Evers allocated $110 million for school funding through federal coronavirus relief funds. The funding will be distributed on a per-pupil basis of $133.72 per pupil. Sue Conley (D-Janesville) released the following statement:
“While Republicans once again failed to prioritize Wisconsin’s public schools in the new biennial budget, Governor Evers continues to prove his commitment to our children’s education. He announced $110 million in new education funding, and Janesville schools will receive $1.23 million of this investment.
“I applaud Governor Evers for continuing to find ways to support Wisconsin schools, even though Republicans have tried their best to prevent any meaningful progress in education funding. I am confident Governor Evers’ investment in public schools will be greatly beneficial to the Janesville School District and across the state.”
