(Madison, WI). Today State Representative Will Penterman (R, Columbus) released the following statement on the unanimous passage of Assembly Bill 607 in the State Assembly.

“Assembly Bill 607 is a common sense bill that is part of a larger legislative package to provide safer, more affordable housing options in Wisconsin,” said Rep. Penterman. “AB 607 would create a low-interest or no-interest loan program through the Wisconsin Housing and Economic Development Authority. Covered uses under the bill including removing lead paint, replacing insulation or siding, and updating heating, plumbing or electrical systems. This bill offers individuals the opportunity to improve their home so it can be in a decent, safe, and sanitary condition.”

AB 607 is Rep. Penterman’s first bill to pass the Wisconsin State Assembly.

The 37th Assembly District includes portions of Dane, Columbia, Dodge and Jefferson Counties.
