MADISON – State Representative Mark Spreitzer (D-Beloit) released the following statement after the announcement from Rep. Dianne Hesselbein (D-Middleton) that she will be stepping down as Assistant Democratic Leader to run for the state senate:
“I want to thank Dianne for her service to the Assembly Democrats and our state. She has been a role model, a mentor, and a dear friend to me since I was first elected in 2014.
“Dianne’s leadership has been invaluable as we have fought to support our state’s veterans, to protect our environment, and to put Wisconsin families and public schools first. She has been a powerful advocate for working Wisconsinites, and has been a driving force in steering our caucus.
“I am deeply grateful for Dianne’s leadership, and I look forward to continuing to work with her in the State Assembly.”
