MADISON – Assembly Majority Leader Jim Steineke (R-Kaukauna) issued the following remarks after State Representative Jeremy Thiesfeldt (R-Fond du Lac) announced today that he will not seek reelection to the state Assembly in 2022:

“Representative Thiesfeldt came to work every day fighting to make Wisconsin’s schools a better place. Jeremy’s passion and insight is something we relied heavily on as a caucus, and his expertise will be sorely missed.

“As a former teacher, Jeremy embodies the notion that all children deserve a high-quality education. He strived continuously to make that ideal a reality and improve outcomes for our students.

“I wish Jeremy and his family the best. I am sure he will continue to be an advocate for education and our children for years to come.”
