Madison, WI – Yesterday evening, Molly Toon, former Middleton High School volleyball player and daughter of Al and Jane Toon, was killed in a murder suicide in Scottsdale, Arizona. On this news, Representative Stubbs issued the following statement:

“My heart aches for the friends, family, and loved ones of Molly Toon. No family should ever have to experience such a tragedy. Molly’s death leaves a hole in our community, but I pray that she will live on in our memories.”

“Molly was a standout athlete while attending Middleton High School, where she graduated in 2010. Her success in Middleton led her to play Division 1 volleyball for the University of Michigan. Her hard work and dedication was commendable, and I hope we will continue to remember her for her achievements”

“It is appalling that yet another family is forever changed by gun violence. Yet another incident has permanently harmed our shared community. We cannot continue to ignore the issue of gun violence, and the need for common sense firearm regulation.

“Today, my prayers are with the Toon family, and to everyone who knew and loved Molly in our community. I pray that we find healing amid this loss, and that Molly’s spirit will live on in our collective memory”
