MADISON – Yesterday, the Wisconsin Supreme Court issued a series of rulings regarding legislative redistricting, including a ruling that would prioritize minimizing changes to the state’s legislative districts. Representative Lisa Subeck (D-Madison) released the following statement:

“After a decade of unfair maps gerrymandered by Republicans to guarantee their own control of the legislature, the fact remains that Wisconsinites want fair maps that allow them to choose their own representatives, not the other way around.

Yesterday’s ‘least change’ ruling by the Wisconsin Supreme Court makes it clear that the court’s conservative majority plans to hand Republicans another 10 years of politically gerrymandered districts while leaving the people of Wisconsin with no recourse to hold their elected officials accountable.”

Representative Lisa Subeck has represented the 78th Assembly District since 2015 and serves as vice-chair of the Assembly Democratic Caucus.
