MADISON — Today, Governor Tony Evers vetoed five Republican bills which would have further restricted access to abortion care and interfered with patient access to reproductive health care. The bills vetoed today include SB 16, SB 503, SB 591, SB 592, and SB 593. Representative Lisa Subeck (D-Madison) joined Governor Evers for the veto signing and released the following statement:
“Abortion is health care, and all Wisconsinites deserve the freedom to make their own reproductive health care decisions without interference from politicians. When a patient decides to terminate a pregnancy, they need access to safe, legal, and judgement free abortion care. Thank you to Governor Evers for his commitment to ensuring continued access to the full range of reproductive health care services.”
Representative Lisa Subeck has represented the 78th Assembly District since 2015 and serves as vice-chair of the Assembly Democratic Caucus.
