Madison, Wis – Representative Rob Swearingen (R-Rhinelander) is now accepting nominations from the 34th Assembly District for the 2021 First Responder of the Year Award. This award was created in 2019 and is meant to honor the incredible men and women of our emergency services and the work they do every day to keep our communities safe.

Nominees for the 2021 First Responder of the Year Award may include police officers, sheriff’s deputies, firefighters or any level of EMS personnel that exemplify community service, selflessness, and dedication. The nominees from each Assembly district will be invited to the State Capitol in Madison to be formally recognized on the Assembly floor during First Responders Appreciation Month in October.

“The Northwoods is an amazing place and the people are what makes it such an incredible
place to call home. I am very excited to hear all the stories from first responders in the 34th Assembly District and the heroic actions they take to protect our communities. We all know that first responders have had to step up even more over the past year and a half, and this award is a small way that we can show them our gratitude and respect.”

Nominations are due to Representative Swearingen’s office no later than Friday, October 8th at 4:00PM. The nominations can be submitted through this online form or on his legislative
