Today, it was reported that Governor Evers and the United States Department of Agriculture came to an agreement to preserve the federal food benefits. State Representative Robyn Vining (D-Wauwatosa) released the following statement:

“I am thrilled that Governor Evers was able to work together with the federal government to maintain these critical food benefits for our most vulnerable residents. As I said earlier today, we have a moral obligation to ensure food for the hungry. The federal government has given us the opportunity and millions in federal funding to help those who need it most. This is no time for partisanship, and no time for games. I am grateful that Governor Evers and the USDA acted quickly to preserve these benefits. As a state, we must love our neighbors through these most difficult times, and that includes helping put food on Wisconsinites’ tables.”
