“The recent events in Kenosha have demonstrated the desperate need for reform of the criminal justice system,” said Chuck Ogg of the Rock County Progressives. “Therefore we are thrilled to present Angela Cunningham to speak on this topic.  Angela is a criminal defense attorney and candidate for Circuit Court Judge in Kenosha County Branch 6, having recently succeeded in the primary. As a judge, she will ‘address immediate dangers to our safety, while also making sure every step of the criminal justice system works together to identify the causes of violence, provide safe spaces for victims to escape their abusers and heal, and rehabilitate offenders.’

“Angela has lived in Western Kenosha County since she was a child, and is a graduate of Wilmot High School, where she ran track and played in the band. She graduated from UW with a bachelor’s degree in Social Welfare and Women’s Studies and a Master of Social Work. She obtained her law degree from Northwestern Pritzker School of Laws. She currently serves on the Catholic Charities Board of Trustees and the Board of Directors for the Urban League of Racine and Kenosha.

“The educational forum will be held on Wednesday, March 10 on Zoom, the meeting beginning at 6 PM with Angela speaking at 6:30 PM, the public is invited and can go to RockCountyProgressives.org or email us at RockCountyProgressives@gmail.com to receive a Zoom invitation.”
