The Republican State Leadership Committee’s Judicial Fairness Initiative is launching a cable buy to back Shelley Grogan in the 2nd District Court of Appeals race.
The Washington, D.C.-based group said it’s putting $50,000 behind the buy, which will air in Milwaukee and Green Bay. The group has done independent expenditures in past state Supreme Court races but said this is the first time it’s weighed in on a Wisconsin appeals court contest. A filing with the state Ethics Commission pegged the cost of the buy at $56,173.
The ad opens with the narrator saying, “The radical left is out of control” as video of Dem U.S. Reps. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez and Nancy Pelosi is shown. It then touts Grogan’s more than 20 years of experience in the courts.
“She’ll work to protect our kids and keep violent criminals behind bars where they belong,” the narrator says. “Judge Shelley Grogan will keep standing up for Wisconsin families.”
