MADISON – Today, Senator Jon Erpenbach (D-West Point) announced he will not seek re-election for his State Senate seat. Senator Erpenbach served Wisconsin for 24 years.

Senator Melissa Agard (D-Madison) released the following statement regarding the announcement:

“Senator Jon Erpenbach has served Wisconsin diligently for over 20 years – his dedication to his constituents and their shared values are what made him a great public servant.

“Senator Erpenbach is an outspoken champion for public education, Medicaid expansion and healthcare, and worker’s rights. Throughout his tenure, he centered his constituents and ordinary Wisconsinites in everything he did. His leadership on the Joint Finance Committee and ability to synthesize complex issues were unparalleled. Jon’s leadership, wit, and levity will be missed by all.

“I want to sincerely thank Senator Erpenbach for steadfast leadership and dedication to the state of Wisconsin throughout his years of service. I wish him all the best in the future.”
