(Madison)…. This September 13-17 has been designated by the American Association of People with Disabilities as National Disability Voter Registration Week. Senator Kathy Bernier (R-Chippewa Falls) said the following about the designation:
“This week should be a time for us all to commit ourselves to accessible registration and voting within a system that provides strong safeguards. I encourage people with disabilities, as well as all eligible voters to register and to vote. Some of our citizens face physical challenges, but those challenges should not make their vote any more difficult or count any less. Our goal is and always should be to accommodate those with limitations by providing several safe and secure registration and voting options.”
