Madison, WI — Senator Chris Kapenga (R – Delafield) issued the following statement after being sworn in as the new Wisconsin State Senate President.

“I appreciate that I have been chosen to help lead the Wisconsin State Senate and participate in a new capacity for the upcoming session. I look forward to working with the new Majority Leader Senator LeMahieu, Minority Leader Senator Bewley, Chief Clerk Mike Queensland, and meeting with all of my colleagues to discuss how I can best serve the senate as the new presiding officer.”

“This session we will face new challenges, have spirited debates, and disagree from time to time; however, it is my hope that as the presiding officer I can ensure everyone’s voice is heard and that the will of the senate is appropriately carried out.”
